What is an AIA Certified CEU Course?
An AIA Certified Continuing Education (CEU) Course is a learning program reviewed and approved by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) to meet continuing education requirements for licensed architects and design professionals.
By completing an AIA Certified CEU, participants earn Learning Units (LUs) that count toward their mandatory professional development hours. Some courses may also qualify for Health, Safety, and Welfare (HSW) credit, which is required in many states for license renewal.
These courses are designed to:
- Expand knowledge of design, materials, and industry trends.
- Strengthen professional skills and competencies.
- Ensure architects and designers stay current with standards that impact the built environment.

An IDCEC Certified Continuing Education (CEU) Course is a learning program reviewed and approved by the Interior Design Continuing Education Council (IDCEC) to meet continuing education requirements for interior designers and related professionals.
By completing an IDCEC Certified CEU, participants earn credits that count toward mandatory professional development hours required by leading organizations such as ASID (American Society of Interior Designers), IIDA (International Interior Design Association), and IDC (Interior Designers of Canada).
These courses are designed to:
- Provide up-to-date knowledge on design, materials, codes, and industry practices.
- Strengthen professional skills and competencies in interior design.
- Ensure designers stay compliant with evolving standards that impact health, safety, and the built environment.
Paragon’s IDCEC Certified CEU courses are recognized nationwide, and upon completion, attendance is reported directly to IDCEC to be recorded in each participant’s official education transcript.
